Terms of use
The rules for using Wayfolio, short and with no fine print. By joining the waitlist or using the app, you accept them.
In force since October 31, 2026 (version 2026-10-31). The Spanish text is the reference one; this English translation is for convenience.
Who is behind it
Wayfolio is a personal project: it is built and run by one person, in Argentina, with no company behind it (in these terms, “we” or “the administrator”). You can write to us at [email protected]. How we look after your data is on the privacy page.
A closed beta, free and with no guarantees
- Wayfolio is free and in closed beta: you get in only with an invitation or an approved request.
- It may have bugs, go down, be slow or change without notice. We look after it as best we can, but we don't guarantee it will always be available or that no data will ever be lost. There are backups, but they are not a promise.
- It doesn't replace official information: check flights, trains, bookings, opening times and entry and health requirements with whoever is in charge (the airline, the hotel, the consulate). Maps, weather, exchange rates and translations can be wrong.
- For anything important, keep your own copy (the itinerary can be downloaded from Data) and have the original papers at hand.
- We may end the beta or shut Wayfolio down. If that happens, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice so you can take your data with you.
Your account
- You must be of legal age to have an account. A minor's data (for example, a child's medical card) is added by an adult in charge of them.
- An account belongs to one person: don't share it. Look after your password (or your Google account) and sign out, from Account, any session you don't recognize.
- What is done with your account is your responsibility. If you think someone got in without permission, write to us right away.
Your content is yours
- What you add (trips, expenses, notes, documents) remains yours.
- You give us permission only for what the app needs to work: to store it, back it up and show it to the people you invite, with the role you give them.
- We don't sell it, we don't use it for advertising or to train artificial intelligence, and we don't show it to anyone else, except in the cases the privacy page explains (for example, support, which is logged) or if an authority requires it with a valid order.
- You're responsible for having the right to add what you add. If you add other people's data (fellow travelers, their documents), do it with their permission.
- What you add to a shared trip is seen, and depending on their role can be changed, by the other members of that trip.
Medical card, insurance and other sensitive data
- Adding them is optional. If you do, you decide what to add, and you're responsible for it being correct and for having the person's permission (or being the one in charge of them).
- On the server they are stored encrypted and seen only by the people you choose; the copy on your phone is protected by your phone's lock. The details are on the privacy page.
- Wayfolio is not a medical or emergency service: the medical card and its translations are an aid and can contain mistakes. In an emergency, call the local emergency number.
- Don't add what you don't need for the trip, such as full card numbers or passwords.
Acceptable use
Wayfolio is for planning and living trips. Don't use it to:
- do anything illegal, or add content you have no right to share;
- bother, harass or deceive other people, for example with invitations they don't expect;
- get into other people's accounts or trips, or test its security without telling us (if you find a problem, write to us: we'll be grateful);
- overload the service or automate requests beyond what the app offers (that's what the tokens and the assistant connectors are for);
- store files that have nothing to do with your trips, resell access or use it as part of another service.
If someone doesn't follow these terms, we may limit or close their account. Unless it's urgent (an attack, ongoing abuse), we give notice first and time to take their data.
Assistants and outside services
The assistant connectors (Claude, ChatGPT) are optional: if you connect one, whatever the assistant reads from your trips is also subject to that company's rules, and what it adds on your behalf counts as added by you. Maps, weather, exchange rates and place searches come from third-party services (named on the privacy page): we're not responsible for what they say.
Leaving
- You can stop using Wayfolio whenever you want.
- To delete your account, write to us at [email protected] from the account's e-mail address. What is deleted and what stays is under “How to close your account”.
- To leave the waitlist, the same: write to us at [email protected] from the address you signed up with.
Liability
Wayfolio is offered free of charge and as it is. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for damage that comes from using it or not being able to use it: a booking lost because of a wrongly entered detail, a service outage, lost data or a mistake by an outside service. None of this limits the rights Argentine law gives you that can't be waived.
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms; the date of the version in force is always at the top. If the change is important, we announce it in the app (and by e-mail, once e-mails are turned on) at least 15 days before it takes effect. If you don't agree, you can ask to close your account; if you keep using Wayfolio after that date, you accept the new version.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Argentine Republic. If there's a problem, write to us first: almost everything gets solved that way. If not, it will be settled by the courts that have jurisdiction under that law.
